Legacy of Quality, Future of Excellence

E. McLauchlan & Sons was established by Erland McLauchlan in 1865 in the Richmond area, now popularly known as Rocketts Landing. After Erland, the company was owned by his grandchildren, Buster, Ema & Eveland McLauchlan. In 1932, Johnny Leon Fulton, owner of Weld All Welding Company, purchased E. McLauchlan & Son and expanded the business. Robert “Steamboat” Fulton took over the company in 1974, and his son, John Fulton, joined him in the business after finishing college in 1981 with a degree in chemistry.

In 1996, John Fulton purchased the company from his father and operated it until September 2023. At that time, John sold E. McLauchlan & Sons to Brandon Jarrell of Valley Boiler and Mechanical Inc. in Roanoke, Virginia. Brandon started his career working alongside his father, Gary Jarrell, who owned and operated Valley Boiler & Mechanical in Roanoke before selling the business to Brandon in 2020. Brandon brought in Paul Cooper as a partner, who started his career in 1990 with Gordon Piatt Energy Group, an industrial burner company in Winfield, Kansas. He later worked for Autoflame North America, a burner & boiler controls company in Wichita, Kansas, where he oversaw the day-to-day operations for 14 years. After working as VP of Operations at McKenna Boiler in Los Angeles, California, for two years, Paul moved east to Richmond, Virginia.
